However, after WFME took over WDMS, this practice changed, that is, now WDMS only includes the establishment of western medicine clinical medicine professional medical colleges, and does not include traditional Chinese medicine and other traditional medicine in this list. However, this does not mean that the World Health Organization does not recognize the status of medical colleges and universities that only operate TCM clinical specialties.
